Opening TAGspiel

Entries will be accepted from all registered curlers on an individual basis.

The Opening TAGspiel is a relaxed warm-up opportunity.

The President’s Trophy

The President’s Trophy series is our primary Men’s Curling event.

The Men’s Committee encourages all male curlers to participate. Entry is "team" based - Individuals (Free Agents)  without a team are assisted by the Committee for placement with a team (as availability permits).

The  regular season series of games runs October to March. The Playoffs - the Club Championship wraps up the year. Due to the popularity of the President’s Series the schedule includes games on Monday and Tuesday evenings.

Series 1 - Game 1

October 19

Dragins

The Dragins meet on Saturday mornings (when available) to enjoy a friendly game. Teams are assembled with a tag/bucket draw format immediately prior to game time.

All male members are invited to join in the action. Guests are welcome. There is no commitment required, this is a relaxed chance to get a game or hone your skills.

Week 1 is October 24

WAGS • Weekday Senior Men

Our Senior Men's weekly game traditionally includes meeting for a cocktail (11:30 am) and lunch (12:00pm) prior to curling. Weekly prizes are awarded to the top performers.

Members of the WAGS also have Inter-Club activities available. Options include the West End Senior Men on Fridays and a Monday afternoon invitation to Mississaugua Golf and Country Club.

Ladies

Ladies Our Ladies daytime programme provides a terrific blend of curling and social activities. A number of special events compliment the regular schedule throughout the year. Watch your calendar for the next fun day or spiel.

The Ladies’ Committee has prepared for another exciting season. If you are not available to participate on a regular basis, spares are always needed.

Business Women

The Business Women play each Wednesday evening. The season is divided into series with the teams reorganized each schedule. A Skip's Draft is used to choose the teams.

Opening night is October 21 - An instruction camp will be availalbe for everyone interested in a good start to the season, new and experienced curlers will benefit from the variety of principles presented. A tag draw for those that want to refresh game conditions will be organized. A social hour will follow including a report from your Business Women’s Executive. 

October 28 is the start of Series 1. Details will be available as the season approaches.

Inter-club activities specific to the Business Women include: our own SnowFlake Bonspiel in January, many bonspiels in the GTA and Quad Club. Quad Club is a reciprocal event - participants include St. George's, Mississaugua, Weston and High Park.

Open

The Open

The Open  - supported by ElementsLLP- is a team entry (choose your own team) league. Rinks may be organized with any combination of male and female players.

Teams in our Thursday Open compete for the Verda Petrie Memorial Trophy -presented by Mr. Brian Petrie.

The focus of the Thursday Open is "friendly competition".

Sunday Morning Curling

A relaxing, pleasurable morning of camaraderie. And Curling too! With weekly prizes.

Guests are welcome to join us for breakfast and curling. The teams are created each week using the tag/bucket draw format immediatley prior to game time.

Breakfast is available in the Royal York Room starting at 8:00 am.

Mixed

Friday Night Mixed Curling The opportunity to relax and enjoy some friendly competition sustains a high level of interest in our Mixed programme. For the last few seasons this section's schedule has included 36 teams, which creates a need for the third draw. Each group of teams play through a rotating schedule.

Entries for Mixed curling are accepted from teams, couples or individuals. Members are encouraged to create their own rinks, however teams will be assembled by the Committee to accommodate as many interested parties as possible.

Our "Proudly Canadian" 
Fall Mixed Bonspiel

The Fall Mixed Bonspiel is the longest running event in our section. Teams are created by the Mixed Committee. All Members are encouraged to register. This is an excellent venue for mingling with your fellow members in a relaxed atmosphere. Guests are welcome - please check with the Curlign Office for available space.

Add the Fall Mixed Bonspiel to your "special events" calendar. Join us  - just for the fun of it!

Little Rock, Bantam and Juniors

Youth Programmes

St. George’s offers a specialized programme for young curlers aged 7 to 19. There is regular instruction from certified coaches, fun games and, for those who enjoy competition, there is the opportunity to compete in bonspiels and leagues across the GTA.

There are three sections to our youth programme:
Little Rock (ages 7-10)
Bantam (11-16)
and Junior (17-19).
Curlers of all skill levels are welcome. All three sections are open to children of members and non-members alike.

Highschool
(Etobicoke)

Organized and run by Teachers associated with the Toronto Schools. Teams representing the "West" division have gone on to compete with success at Toronto and OFSSA championships.

Interested students should check with their school for details.

Parents/adults wanting to assist with the development of our curlers of the future, are welcome to join the instructional team. Please contact your Junior Coordinators or the Curling Office. 


Spares
Spares are always in demand. This is a great way to meet a wide selection of the membership. All sections rely on individuals willing to spare. Please refer to any of the section schedules for a list of available players.
