At St. George’s you’ll enjoy a variety of wonderful dining options and delicious menu options. There’s a relaxed pub atmosphere in the Royal York Lounge, the club’s main bar, and just around the corner fine dining and exceptional cuisine is enjoyed in the elegant and spacious St. George’s Grill. Curlers also enjoy the Dragon’s Den, while golfers tend to congregate outside on the Upper Verandah with its stunning views of the golf course and the downtown skyline, and a terrific menu.

Executive Chef Saunders

Executive Chef Saunders sliced and diced his way to St. George’s Golf and Country Club in 2008 and has continued to maintain and improve upon the highest levels of cuisine in one of Canada’s most acclaimed private country clubs.

Chef Saunders hails from southern England, where he completed his training in some of the finest country inns in England and France. He honed his skills whilst working under Michelin star rated chefs in fine establishments such as; The Spa Hotel Tunbridge Wells, Horsted Place (East Sussex), and Le Hostillerie de Plaisance, Bordeaux.

Since arriving in Canada in 1994, Chef Saunders has lent his culinary experience to prestigious establishments such as the; Sherwood Inn in Muskoka, Waterside Inn in Port Credit, the illustrious Langdon Hall Country House in Cambridge and Oakdale Golf and Country Club in Toronto. His culinary style is often described as Modern Country House Cuisine, which makes use of the finest and freshest ingredient available.

At St. George’s, he’s introduced progressive initiatives including; building strong relationships with local farmers and producers, created the club’s first herb and vegetable garden, developed a Take-Out menu for members and supervised more than 9,000 meals served during the week of the 2010 RBC Canadian Open.
